Greener, intelligent boilersBeing trialled next year is a new type of boiler which can generate its own electricity while producing heat for your home and water. It uses a new type of technology that uses solid oxide fuel cells to convert the gas supplied to the boiler into electricity as well as producing the heat needed for your home. The electricity your boiler produces can either be metered and used as a source of electricity for your household, or it can be sold back to your electricity provider.
These boilers work in a way that minimises carbon emissions so they're good for the environment, and with savings of around £200 on your energy bill, can be good for your pocket too. And they even work during power cuts.
